Our History

Our firm founder, Robin Siegel, founded Siegel, Gross, & Tou in 1998 on two ideals: passion for immigration and dedication to her clients. She was intent on building a very small boutique immigration firm dedicated to helping her IT clients grow. She began by working out of a spare room in her house with her late father doing clerical work and billing. Her few clients were just small startup tech companies. By focusing on employment based immigration for IT companies, Robin sought to bridge her expertise in Immigration Law with her prior computer programming career. And she did just that. Her strong work ethic, knowledge of immigration law, and personal attention led to consistently successful results.  Acknowledging those qualities, her clients repeatedly recommended her to others in need of immigration law services.  Robin’s philosophy is inherent in the culture of Siegel, Gross, & Tou: personal attention to clients and deep knowledge of immigration law yields consistently positive results.

As our clients thrived, so did SGT. In 2001, Sandra Gross, joined the firm and became a partner, adding her corporate knowledge and legal writing skills. While gaining an inside look at the business world during her tenure at Michigan Bell Telephone Company, Sandra was also a legal writing professor at Wayne State University Law School. Candie Tou Clement, joined in 2005 and is now a partner. Candie, who has extensive previous experience in both immigration and corporate fields, currently specializes in H-1B and green card petitions. Shawn T. Hope joined the firm in 2012, after leaving a high volume Chicago immigration firm. Shawn, who is now a partner, heads SGT’s H-1B department and is an expert in all aspects of H-1B petitions. Siegel, Gross, & Tou has now grown to include 7 immigration attorneys and 8 support staff.

SGT is currently located in Clawson, Michigan, a suburb of Detroit, which is home to a steadily growing base of tech startups and young entrepreneurs. We represent clients in diverse industries such as Information Technology, Automotive, Manufacturing, Healthcare and other related industries. Many of SGT’s clients are multimillion dollar technology companies who are leaders of their industry with hundreds of employees. Our consistently positive results and personal attention is scalable to any size company.

Siegel, Gross & Tou PC:  Passion for immigration. Dedication to our clients.

Giving Back

Freedom House Detroit provides a temporary refuge to people from around the world who seek asylum in the United States and Canada, upholding the fundamental American principle of providing safety for those “yearning to breathe free.” On August 6, 2016, we volunteered at Freedom House, painting part of their facility. These are some pictures from our day out at Freedom House!
